NBA Star Damian Lillard Adds a Steve Wiebe Tattoo to His Collection

Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard added to his extensive tattoo collection this week. Tattoo artist Steve Wiebe posted a series of photos showing him working on Lillard inside of a recording studio. And before any of you NBA nerds even ask, no, the tattoo is not a Miami Heat logo.

While neither Lillard or Wiebe shared a photo of the finished product, by judging from recent photos it appears as if Lillard added the words, “Lillard University” on his knee. For the record, the all-star point guard attended Weber State University, where he finished as the number two scorer in the school’s history despite forgoing his senior year. More likely, it’s a reference to his family and the many lessons he’s learned from them throughout his life. Since the tattooing was done inside a recording studio, perhaps it’s going to be an upcoming track from Lillard under his rap name, Dame D.O.L.L.A.

Lillard has once again been the subject of trade rumors all summer long. The longtime Trail Blazer has been reluctant to press for a trade in the past, despite fans calling for him to join a super team, but things changed this year when he finally asked for his way out of Portland. Joining Jimmy Butler on the Miami Heat seems to be his desire, but it remains to be seen if the Heat have what it takes to land Lillard.

Wiebe has become the go-to artist for many star athletes over the years, including Marcus Stroman, Danny Green, Jayson Tatum, Demar Derozan and many more. Previously, Wiebe tattooed portraits of Lillard’s children, as well as a gold medal from the Tokyo Olympics, upon the point guard’s leg. So this latest tattoo appears to be adding on to what is shaping up to be a full leg sleeve for Lillard. When we get word that Wiebe and Lillard have added to their project, you’ll see it here.
